Sharing from BA student Jessie Yeung: A project manager's journey with TOPPAN Digital Language (TDL)
| Over the past year, my role as a project manager has involved collaborating with press release companies. Utilizing CAT tools like Trados Studio, I have overseen projects, liaising with linguists and clients to uphold quality standards. Translation technology has proven incredibly advantageous, features like translation memory and term bases positively improve translators' workflows. Additionally, quality assurance software also efficiently supports project managers in ensuring translation accuracy. Despite the increasing demand for machine translations, the essential role of human translators remains paramount in ensuring the accuracy and fluency of translations. This experience has been enriching, providing insights into the operational processes of industry and revealing diverse opportunities for growth. |
