Proud Achievements at the 10th Cross-strait Interpreting Competition: 5th Hong Kong Regional Final
We are delighted to share the exceptional results of our students at the 10th Cross-strait Interpreting Competition: The 5th Hong Kong Regional Final, where the theme this year was “Digital Society” — a timely and thought-provoking topic that challenged participants to interpret nuanced discussions on technology, culture, and society.

Representing the Department of Translation, Liu Chun Wai 劉俊偉, Pang Ying 龐櫻 and Tse Di Heng 謝旳珩 rose to the challenge with outstanding performances, standing out among 17 contestants from across Hong Kong’s universities:

First Prize
Tse Di Heng 謝旳珩

Second Prize
Liu Chun Wai 劉俊偉
Pang Ying 龐櫻

Behind these accolades lies weeks of rigorous preparation — from researching the digital society discourse, refining bilingual expression, to honing their interpreting skills under pressure. The students devoted countless hours to four intensive training sessions guided by our dedicated teachers:
Mr. Jasper LEUNG, Dr. Li LI, Prof. Long LI, Prof. Sophie Ling-chia WEI, and Dr. Lidia ZHOU (listed in alphabetical order).

Their behind-the-scenes effort — practicing tirelessly, receiving feedback with humility, and supporting one another throughout — truly embodied the professionalism and perseverance that interpreting demands.

We celebrate not only their prizes, but also their journey of growth, resilience, and collaboration.

Congratulations to our three brilliant contestants — and heartfelt gratitude to our amazing teaching team who made it possible!.
