Topic: Translations of Sacred and Mystical Texts in Interfaith Dialogues |

This is an intellectually rich and globally engaged workshop that brings together scholars from Harvard, CUHK, Nankai, HKU, Loyola Chicago, Sun Yat-sen, and beyond to explore how sacred and mystical texts—from the Daodejing and the Yijing to Kabbalistic and Christian writings—have been translated, reinterpreted, and transformed across cultures and faiths. |
Featuring presentations on: |
• Jesuit Figurist encounters with Daoism and Kabbalah |
• Inner alchemy texts in Western translation |
• The Taiping Bible and its retranslation of Christian scripture |
• Holy water, healing, and transnational Catholic spirituality |
